If you cannot come to TASK or STSK to help out, but
still wish to contribute to our cause, there are lots
of things you can do.
1. Help serve a mid-day meal any day Monday thru Friday.
Volunteer Hours 10:15-1pm.
2. Help serve an evening meal Monday thru Thursday. Volunteer
Hours 3:15-5:15pm.
3. Help serve a meal for the South Trenton Soup Kitchen (Monday,
Tuesday, or Wednesday). Volunteer Hours are 4:30-6:30pm.
4. Become a tutor in the morning (9:00-10:30) or afternoon
(2:00-3:30 or 4:00-5:30) for our Adult Literacy class or 1:1 assistance.
We need tutors in literacy, math, computer skills or GED training.
5. Help with Kids Day-Off Program - On school holidays or summer
days, plan and supervise an activity from 12:00 to 1:30pm. You can use
supplies provided by TASK or come prepared with a planned arts and craft
activity which you run entirely.
6. Volunteer for an afternoon between Dec. 15th and Jan. 1st
to help with holiday gifts.
7. Donate Wrapped Utensils-wrap a plastic knife, fork and
teaspoon in a napkin and secure it with a twist tie. The part of the
utensil that goes into the mouth must be covered with the napkin. You
can buy these items yourself, or TASK can provide supplies for you.
8. Donate Take-Home Lunch Bags-peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
(please put peanut butter on both slices of bread and the jelly in the
middle), fresh or individual can of fruit, dessert, juice box and napkin
in a brown bag (children can decorate the bags). Please put all items in
a brown paper lunch bag with the top folded down. Lunch bags can be
delivered Monday – Thursday 8:3 Am to 5:00PM and on Friday 8:30 Am to
10:00 AM
9. Donate Take-Home Dinner Bags- Includes an entree (Bumblebee or
Starkist Tuna salad, or chicken salad with crackers, or an individual
can of spaghetti or ravioli) a juice box, dessert, canned fruit, plastic
spoon, and a napkin. Dinner bags can be delivered at any time. Please
put all items in a brown paper lunch bag with the top folded down. See
below for delivery hours.
10. Donate Hygiene Bags- one bar of soap (Zest, Irish Spring,
Coast or Lever 2000 are the popular items), men’s disposable razor,
men’s deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste and shampoo. Razors and
deodorant are unisex for our patrons. We prefer regular sizes but
motel/hotel sizes are permissible.
11. Donate Mini Hygiene Bags- a bar soap (Zest, Irish Spring,
Coast or Lever 2000), washcloth and men’s disposable razor in Zip lock
sandwich bag. Again, men’s razors are unisex for our patrons.
12. Donate GALLON SIZE zip lock bags to hold the personal hygiene
items.
13. Donate Bake cookies, brownies, and cupcakes- make a bag of
cookies (about 6 to a bag depending on the size). You do not have to bag
cupcakes. Also please be aware that you can bake for any holiday
(Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Christmas, Halloween, and Fourth of
July etc.)
14. Donate Socks- Men’s crew or tube socks are unisex for our
patrons and greatly appreciated.
15. Donate Cold Weather Clothing- During the winter season the
soup kitchen has a great need for dark colored men’s knit watch caps
(black, brown, gray, navy and no face masks), large sized, adult gloves
for men and women, winter and adult winter scarves, and any men’s or
women’s coats in large sizes (XL-XXL).
16. Donate Plastic Ponchos- many times when it is raining the
patrons are in need of hooded ponchos for adults. A good place to buy
ponchos in the dollar store, however please deter from buying ponchos
that are three for a 1$.
17. Donate Reading Glasses- various strengths can be of use.
Again, the dollar store may serve as a good place to buy reading
glasses.
18. Donate a Computer- Pentium 1 or a computer with enough memory
for Windows 95 is a prerequisite for donating a computer. You can also
donate a working printer. Please contact us in advance for these
donations.
19. Donate Sanitary Napkins or tampons
20. Donate books and art supplies- These supplies can vary from
paints, paint brushes, canvases, canvas stretchers, construction paper,
markers, glitter etc.
21. Stuff and seal envelopes for the office.
22. Entertain TASK patrons with music, drama, etc. (space is
limited, so a small group is best).
23. Conduct a Non-Perishable Food Drive- any non-perishable food
items. No glass please. See our website for details.
24. Invite TASK to speak- The staff members of TASK are happy to
come to any club, organization, or place of worship to explain our
mission at TASK, and to inform people how they can volunteer.
25. Make a gift of real estate, life insurance, or stocks.
26. Include TASK in your will.
27. Make an honorary or memorial gift to TASK.
28. Designate a United Way donation to TASK. Please enter TASK’S
name and address on the campaign card or use the following codes for
specific campaigns- NJ Employee Charitable Campaign # 6557 and Combined
Federal Campaign # 6040.
29. Make a planned gift to TASK through the Princeton Area
Community Foundation.

NOTE: Make deliveries Monday-Thursday
from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Friday from 8:30 AM to 1:00
PM. Bag
lunches must arrive before 10 AM on Friday. We
share a driveway with the Animal Shelter. Pull into that
driveway and go to the double doors on the right. Ring
the bell and someone will come out to help you.
