Volunteers Are Our Heart and SoulThere would be no TASK without our volunteers. From the beginning, TASK has relied on their generosity to help prepare, serve meals and clean up; to tutor in adult education; and to staff the many other programs. Volunteers come as individuals, families or members of school organizations, churches, synagogues, civic and social organizations, and corporations from the Greater Trenton area, Monday through Friday, fifty-two weeks a year. Volunteer OpportunitiesThere are many ways you can help us. You can give money or donate food or other needed items or volunteer your time. Becoming a volunteer is easy. We simply need to determine what you would like to do, what TASK needs you for and where, and when you should come in. Please read about volunteer opportunities on these webpages and look at the Frequently Asked Questions list. Check the home page for special/immediate needs that we have. Decide what you would like to do and when you can come. Try to have several dates in mind in case all volunteer slots are filled for your first and second choices. Then email the Volunteer Coordinator with your preferences and a telephone number where you can be reached during normal business hours. Your only committment is to show up at the agreed-on day and time for the agreed-on amount of time. However, you can commit to periodic or repeated volunteeering as your schedule permits. Then, of course, you are committed to whatever dates we both agree to. On-site at TASK and at STSK, including serving, tutoring, etc. Off-site -- many things you can do at home, at school, at your organization's meetings and at the office to help TASK. Helpful Tips for TASK Volunteers Comments from Volunteers Volunteer E-Mail ListWe have an electronic mailing list that will allow me to contact TASK volunteers when an urgent need arises and/or to let you know of a new volunteer activity. For example, recently, I have been without volunteers for many dinner meals and do not have the staff to call for help on the telephone. Having a volunteer email list helps to alleviate a situation such as this. If you are willing to join the Volunteer Email List, please sign in below. You can always return here and "unsubscribe" if you like. I promise not to send you unnecessary emails. TASK Volunteer Coordinator |
