Christmas 2006

TASK patrons, staff and volunteers celebrated Christmas Day with a sit down meal that included roast beef, rice with gravy, salad, fresh vegetables and dessert. Volunteers served patrons their choice of beverage and fresh fruit.

The dining room was brightened for the holiday with colored tablecloths and donations of live poinsettias plants, decorations, placemats and Christmas tree ornaments made by the students at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. Over 100 volunteers helped to make this meal special for diners.

Tuesday through Friday, TASK conducted its annual holiday gift give-away. Patrons had the opportunity to select a special gift -- a "hoodie", thermal underwear or a towel set. Everyone got socks, a mini-hygiene bag, a hat, a scarf and gloves. Children received a stuffed animal, a hat, a scarf, gloves and a special gift they could select from those donated. Patrons always appreciate the generosity of those donating gifts to TASK for the holiday.

We all extend our thanks to all of you who made this holiday as special as it was. We thank each and every one of you for all the different things you did whether you donated your time on Christmas day, donated items to our gifts give-away, sorted and organized the donated items, distributed items during the meal or cleaned up after each give-away and reorganized for the next day. All the work you did made this holiday special for those who might not have otherwise felt special.
