A Taste of Generosity

TASK Gets a Taste of Generosity

On June 12, Share Our Strength held its 17th Annual “Taste of the Nation” benefit for the Princeton area community at the Westin Hotel. Tickets for the event were sold out! The evening proved to be a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and support several local non-profit organizations. The beneficiaries included TASK, Isles, Mercer County Food Bank, HomeFront, and Mercer Street Friends. These organizations are dedicated to fighting hunger and improving the quality of life of their patrons.

The event featured many local restaurants and celebrity chef David Burke. The food was excellent, as expected. In addition to several representatives from the Soup Kitchen, the A-Team was also in attendance at the event to exhibit their art. Their art was well-received by the event participants.

Since 1988, Share Our Strength’s “Taste of the Nation” benefit has raised more than $55 million, providing support to more than 450 organizations working to end hunger and poverty. TASK has been a beneficiary of the event for 15 years. The money raised by this event for TASK goes directly to fund the meals that we prepare for our patrons daily.
