Building into the Future - TASK’s Capital Campaign

TASK has been graced with strong support from donors, patrons and volunteers over its 35-year history of service to the community. As a result, the soup kitchen has grown in size and in the scope of services it provides.

BrochureBesides the 4 million meals TASK has served since its inception (350,000 last year alone), when the need became apparent, TASK created adult education, then case management and arts programs to encourage self-sufficiency and improve patrons’ quality of life.

Despite our best efforts, more folks are coming to our door in need of TASK’s crucial services and TASK has outgrown the space it needs to help the increasing number of patrons who come to the soup kitchen to work toward a brighter future.

For this reason, TASK plans to break ground for a 3,300-sq.-ft. addition in the fall, which will provide the space we so desperately need to expand our meal service, adult education and quality-of-life programs and to better serve the needs of our volunteers.  The attached brochure provides more details.

TASK’s $1.3 million building project will allow the soup kitchen to meet the growing needs of its programs, patrons, staff and volunteers.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, TASK was able to jump-start the capital campaign with a $50,000 unrestricted gift. The donor will also match every dollar that is donated, up to $450,000, in response to this appeal. Thus, your donation to the Building into the Future project will have twice the impact.
