Weekend Meal Service at Other Organizations
20 ways to help TASK
This Thanksgiving, the dining room was glowing. The bright smiles of our volunteers quickly spread to the faces of our patrons. The decorations made the day extra festive. To make it even more special, volunteers acted as waiters and waitresses, serving the meal "restaurant style". Plates of turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, salad, corn, cornbread, lemonade, and pie were delivered with love to the patrons at each brightly colored table. The dining room was full and it felt like the holiday dinners when all your sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents and grandparents pack into your grandmother's dining room to eat dinner and share laughs. At the end of the meal, each patron was offered a cup of coffee or tea and received a wrapped tray of Thanksgiving leftovers to take home to eat later. With the help of 97 volunteers, we served 668 meals this Thanksgiving Day. We at TASK are grateful.
