30 ways to help TASK
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL
Members of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) Board of Trustees and guests gathered at McCarter Theatre for their annual get-together Feb. 19th, hosted by Board member David Geltzer, his wife Leslee, and the Geltzer Family Foundation.
After breaking bread together and a warm welcome by TASK Executive Director Dennis Micai, they watched “Triumph of Community,” a video by Board Chair Jim Parker that tells the inspiring story of Rayon Cauthen, one of TASK’s GED and ServSafe graduates.
After a few words from David Geltzer, fellow TASK Board member Kathy Wooley stepped up to the lectern to share her memories of working with the late Emilio Papa, longtime TASK volunteer extraordinaire and the night’s recipient of the Geltzer Family Foundation 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. Members of his family were present to receive the award on his behalf.
To round out the evening, Board members and their guests attended the night’s show — a musical walk down memory lane by the Midtown Men, four stars from the Broadway show “Jersey Boys,” who sang hits from the Sixties.
