TASK Hosts its Annual Volunteer Thank You Brunch

At TASK’s Annual Thank You Brunch, TASK staff had the chance to reflect and thank volunteers for their time, effort, and help throughout TASK’s busy year. On April 18th, approximately 80 volunteers joined TASK staff members for a delicious mid-day brunch prepared by TASK’s kitchen staff, led by Paul Jensen.

At the brunch, TASK staff reminisced about volunteer stories and patron accomplishments. Mayor Jackson even stopped by to speak to volunteers and thank guests. The Annual Dr. Christian Hansen Volunteer Award, in memory of Dr. Hansen, who was an invaluable volunteer at TASK and a huge part of the Trenton community, was presented to The Muslims against Hunger. This year’s Community Service Award was presented to the Battle Against Hunger.

“Volunteers are an essential part of our organization,” explains Charlie Orth, TASK Volunteer Coordinator. “From tutoring adults in our Adult Education Program to wrapping utensils for our meal service program, TASK would not be able to serve our patrons and the greater Mercer County community without their help.  The brunch is our way little way of giving back to those who give us so much.”
