My Soup Kitchen Success
By Barry Murphy

Barry Murphy

My name is Barry S. Murphy Sr., born in Trenton March 14, 1965. It all started the year 2008 in April. I was homeless for 3 to 4 months. June 26, 2008 I walked in TASK and asked someone about housing. They told me to ask Dennis. He never opened his mouth, he just pointed to the social worker. She took me in her office and directed me in the right path and I never look back. During my time attending TASK I stumbled across certain situations that I was able to overcome. I continued my Journey toward success to achieve the goals that I set out for, which was welding. My message to my fellow students is don't give up, and from me to all staff members at TASK thank you, and especially the students at my table!
