Five Students from TASK Pass the GED Test

On April 26, 2012, five students from the TASK Adult Education Program (AEP) passed their GED (General Educational Development) tests. They now have the equivalent of a high school diploma. This is no easy feat -- 1 out of every 3 high school graduates would not pass the test.Congratulations to these five students! We are proud of you. This raises the number of TASK students who have passed the test to eighteen in total since July 2011.

One student, Angelina, plans to continue studying and become a Registered Nurse.Another, Lashon, will be searching for a job while looking into obtaining an Associates Degree.Darnell wants to go to college to study Studio Engineering and Business.Another who passed, Evita, is also going to look for work, but take night classes as well.Last but not least, Kendrick wants to continue his education and become an electrician.

The AEP provides its students with one-on-one tutoring and excellent study materials aimed at preparing them for the test.Class is held Monday to Friday 9am to 11pm and Monday to Thursday 2pm to 4pm.

If you would like to get involved with the AEP, whether it is enrolling as a student, volunteering as a tutor, or donating supplies, please contact Kelly Hansen, Adult Education Coordinator, at (609) 695-5456 x107 or kellyh@trentonsoupkitchen.org.
