TASK is seeking a Part-Time Assistant to the Adult Education Coordinator

Applicants should be organized, detail-oriented, have clerical/administrative experience, data entry and strong computer skills (proficient in WORD and EXCEL). The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills as he/she will work closely with adult students, volunteers, and tutors.

Expected Achievements:

Regarding students:

  • Students are assisted and supported in setting and meeting goals
  • A climate is maintained that supports and retains students and tutors.
  • Student progress is monitored, and reports are prepared
  • Handle online registrations for HSE prep program and exam
  • Proctor student assessments
  • Students are linked to other TASK patron services.
  • Records and reports are prepared as necessary to support services to students in special categories such as CWEP

Regarding tutors:

  • Assistance is provided to the Adult Education Coordinator to ensure that tutors are recruited, oriented and supervised
  • Email program updates and other correspondence
  • Assistance is provided to support planning and executing special events and projects for tutors and students

Regarding programs:

  • An accurate inventory is maintained to ensure that materials needed to implement the curriculum are readily available to students and tutors.
  • Assistance is provided to the Adult Education Coordinator collecting and compiling data on student participation and progress; reports are prepared in an accurate and timely manner
  • The bus pass list is maintained accurately for Work First NJ

Other related duties as assigned by Coordinator, Adult Education or Manager, Patron Services.

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and speak appropriately to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • PC skills preferred, particularly WORD and EXCEL

Required Credentials:

  • High school Education or equivalent.
  • Experience with adult education preferred.
  • Driver’s license preferred.
