TASK is in search of a Kitchen Coordinator

TASK is in search of a versatile and experienced Kitchen Coordinator to run the daily operations of the kitchen. This person shall be a team player, organized and creative to prepare menus with donated food items. This person will be in charge of supervising staff, volunteers, and Community Service workers.

Expected Achievements:

Nutritious meals with ample portions are served at every meal service

  • Menus are prepared considering current pantry stock and donations
  • Request foods needed for menus from Manager, Kitchen and Food Services
  • Meals are prepared on site and served both on -site and at satellite sites in accordance with the stablished schedule.
  • Serving line is properly operating.
  • Appropriate amount of food prepared for meals served on site and at satellite locations.

Safe and efficient operation of the kitchen and pantry

  • Cleaning and sanitation schedules are maintained and monitored.
  • All posts fully staffed with appropriately certificated staff.
  • All equipment is in proper working order.
  • Malfunctioning equipment is reported too Manager, Kitchen and Food Services
  • Proper stock rotation is maintained in pantries, refrigerators and freezers in collaboration with Receiving and Inventory Specialist
  • Temperature logs are maintained and filled out properly

Management and supervision of direct reports:

  • Interview and recommend candidates to fill positions.
  • Coach kitchen staff as needed with Manager, Kitchen and Food Services
  • The professional development of kitchen staff is cultivated through supervision and training.
  • All necessary forms are complete, including performance appraisals.
  • A sense of professionalism, teamwork and pride in a job well done are established and maintained among the kitchen staff.

Participate in full agency administration

  • Represent TASK in meetings and presentations and requested.
  • Conduct tours of the facility as requested.
  • Other related duties as requested by the Executive Director, Manager, Kitchen and Food Services or Manager, Internal Operations.

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and speak appropriately to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to work as member of a team
  • Ability to lift and control up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • PC skills, particularly WORD and EXCEL.

Required Credentials:

  • Minimum of five years related experience including supervisory experience.
  • Education or training in food service management preferred.
  • ServeSafe© Manager certification required, ( within 3 months of hire TASK will provide training).
