From the Desk of the Executive Director
On April 20th, TASK will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary at the Trenton War Memorial. Over the past three decades, we’ve served over 3.3 million meals to our neighbors in need. This is only possible because of the continued support from the community. We would like to thank you. Please join us on April 20, 2013 from 10AM-2PM at Trenton War Memorial, as we host SouperFest--a one day event paying tribute to the efforts of all of our volunteers, contributors, and community partners for over 30 years of service.
The day of festivities will include live music from The Ernie White Band, Barbara Trent, Jerry Rife & The Rhythm Kings, The Union Baptist Church Choir, The American Boychoir, and The Princeton Girlchoir; dance performances by Trenton Education Dance Institute (TEDI), and Egun Omode (The Garvey School); arts with The A-TEAM Artists of Trenton, The SAGE Coalition, and The SHARE Project; and more entertainment including Dennis the Balloonatic, Magician Ben Nemser, Magician Matt Shick, Trenton Thunder Speed Pitch, arts and crafts, games and prizes, and food for all. For details visit www.TASKsouperfest.org.
This event is not a fundraiser. We are intentionally keeping the ticket price low to encourage broad participation (adults $5.00 or 5 cans of food and children under 13 free); event sponsors are providing special funding to cover the costs of this celebration. This event is made possible by:
For planning purposes, we would be very grateful if you would RSVP and reserve your tickets. If you purchase your tickets before April 1st, your name will be entered to win a $100 Gift Card donated by PJ’s Pancake House! \
I hope to see you at this once-in-a-lifetime event so I can personally thank you for all you do to help our neighbors in need.

A Visit from the Harlem Globetrotters
On Wednesday March 6, 2013 TASK was delighted to have “Cheese” from the Harlem Globetrotters visit TASK. He came to help serve lunch as well as put on a little show for our patrons. We got to enjoy some fancy dribbling and of course the ever-so-famous spinning of the basketball on his finger. Click here to see a video of James, an Adult Education student and a FunkTASKtik musician, learning some new basketball skills with Cheese.
