Summary
TASK Launches Endowment Campaign On April 16th TASK launched it’s first-ever endowment campaign. The goal of the Keeping the Bowl Full Endowment Fund Campaign is to raise $2,000,000 by December 2012 which will mark the 30th anniversary of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Through sound fiscal management and the success of our TASK FORCE AGAINST HUNGER CAMPAIGN, TASK has been able to set aside $500,000 in a General Use Endowment Fund, reducing the amount that needs to be raised through the campaign to $1,500,000. An endowment gift to TASK will help to ensure that TASK will be there to feed the hungry of our community for the years ahead. To learn more about the endowment campaign go to: www.trentonsoupkitchen.org or contact Irwin Stoolmacher at (609) 393-0855 or stoolgroup@aol.com. On Saturday, April 24th, TASK celebrated its first ever “Art Day”, featuring the artistic talents of TASK program participants -- the A-TEAM artists, The SHARE Project performing arts group, the FunkTASKtiks! band, and the culinary talents of the TASK Kitchen Staff including special guest Chef Kathy of Madeline’s Table and cookies from the Sarah Seidel Sisterhood of Temple B’nai Abraham. The A-TEAM sold 24 pieces of art, the SHARE Project performed poetry that received standing ovations, and the FunkTASKtiks! had people dancing in the aisles. The artists enjoyed representing themselves and the audience had a great time. Thank you to all those who attended. We look forward to making this an annual event.
