From the Desk of the Executive Director

Hi [fname] and happy spring!

Dennis MicaiSince the last time you heard from us a lot of exciting things have been happening around TASK. We’ve said in the past that hunger has become an issue far greater than just in the city of Trenton. In fact, we have found that the need exists across the entire county at this point in time.

In that regard our two latest satellite locations will be opening in the next few months. Starting on May 5th, TASK will open its second meal service location in Princeton at the Princeton Baptist Church at the corner of John Street and Paul Robeson Place. On June 2nd, we’ll expand our satellite meal service program to provide meals to the Yardville area through the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church. This will bring TASK to 10 satellite locations in total, six of which that happen to be outside the limits of the city of Trenton. So, again as we have said the need is far greater than just an urban issue.

Another program that we are very excited about is our new Youth Against Hunger Program. The new program offers young people a number of ways to get involved with TASK. After our young supporters complete their chosen task, they will be awarded with a nice patch that they can sew on a jacket, put on a book bag, or use it in some other way to document their wonderful work. They can also use those hours to complete community service requirements at school.

Please feel free to read on to the two articles below. Most recently, in April, TASK celebrated its annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch. Also, two TASK supporters, Casey and her Father Pete, are participating in the NJ Marathon and raising money for TASK. Let’s try to help them reach their $10,000 goal.

Thank you,

Dennis Micai
