Adult Education & Work Preparedness Program (AEWP)

We provide individualized tutoring sessions free of charge in a comfortable and encouraging learning environment.

Morning tutoring sessions: Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

Afternoon tutoring sessions: Monday – Thursday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

Students work one-on-one with volunteer tutors to achieve their personal goals at a pace best suited to their learning development, comfort, and style.

We welcome individuals of all educational levels with diverse needs. Whether it’s learning to read and write, getting a high school equivalency diploma, enrolling in a career training program, obtaining U.S. citizenship, getting driver’s permit or entering the workforce — we strive to enhance our students’ lives.

For adult learners and others trying to find employment, using and understanding computers are extremely important – especially for today’s job market.

Through our education program, we offer a computer lab with internet access and provide free computer classes in basic typing, email and internet navigation, computer literacy and word processing to anyone interested.

TASK’s Computer Program is located at 72 ½ Escher Street, Trenton, NJ 08609.

The Computer Room is open to the public: Monday – Friday from 10:30am to 1pm and Monday – Thursday from 3:30pm to 5pm.

To further encourage self-sufficiency and help people get back on their feet, TASK offers job search and employment services to give students and patrons the confidence and skills to search for, obtain, and maintain employment.

Our on-site Job Search Specialist provides free, personal career counseling, career readiness/ life skills training, and support services to help students and patrons transition to college, job-training programs and employment. With these services, along with encouraging local employers to hold hiring drives here at TASK, we help patrons put themselves in a position to leave hunger behind.
