Ways to Help from Home, School and Office!

Volunteer Offsite

For young volunteers, corporate offices and those who can’t regularly come to TASK, you can make a BIG difference right from your house, school, office, or place of worship.

Volunteers ages 3 to 90+ are helping to organize food drives, packaging supplies and selling lemonade to help TASK. Some are even donating their birthday gifts!

Here’s some ideas and ways you can help TASK from afar:

  • Shop! Go shopping at the store for non‐perishable food and other supplies to help TASK. Then bring them in and donate them! See TASK’s Wish List here.

  • Bake! Bake with your family or host a baking party to help TASK! Bake cookies, brownies, and/or other desserts to be given out with TASK meals.

  • Make Meal Bags! Help package take‐home meals for TASK’s patrons. We give out more than 5,000 bags each year. You can make three different types of meal bags. See below for information – and if you have time, feel free to decorate the bags!

  • Diabetic bag – includes a can of tuna or chicken, crackers and granola bar

  • Lunch bags – peanut butter & jelly sandwich (please put peanut butter on both sides of the bread and the jelly in the middle) individual serving of fruit, juice box and plastic spoon & napkins

  • Dinner Bags for Weekends – should have a can of tuna or chicken with crackers, or individual can of spaghetti or ravioli in sauce, a juice box, and dessert, an individual serving of fruit, plastic spoon and napkin

  • Donate and Wrap Utensils for TASK Meals!Wrap a plastic knife and fork in a napkin and secure it with a twist tie. The part of the utensil that goes into the mouth must be covered with the napkin. You can buy these items yourself, or TASK can provide supplies for you.

  • Donate or Make Hygiene Care Packages! Hygiene is super important, so we help TASK patrons by providing them with soap, toothpaste and other things they would need to keep clean.

  • Collect or buy bars of soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and disposable razor. After collecting all the supplies, insert one of each item into a large Ziplock bag and donate them to TASK. See our video!

  • Organize a food drive in your neighborhood, school or place of worship! See TASK’s wish list for things we need. See TASK’s Wish List here. Make a donation box and encourage friends and family to donate.

  • Assemble Small First Aid Kits! Package 5 large band aids & 5 individual single use packets antibiotic cream in a small releasable bag. Donate them to TASK.

  • Donate and Wrap Utensils for TASK Meals! Wrap a plastic knife and fork in a napkin and secure it with a twist tie. The part of the utensil that goes into the mouth must be covered with the napkin. You can buy these items yourself, or TASK can provide supplies for you.

And, don’t forget to schedule to take a tour of TASK when you deliver your donation – We’d love to show you how your help makes a difference!
