On Wednesday, June 24th, we went on a trip to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City. The bus left TASK at around 6 p.m. It was a private charter bus with a DVD player and comfortable seats. It had reclining seats that were so comfortable I fell asleep and woke up when we arrived.

I explored the Liberty Science Center with a husband and wife. When we entered the museum, the first thing we saw was a ball hanging from the ceiling. It looked like the one you see in New York on New Year’s Eve. A mechanic made the ball expand and contract. There were some hands-on educational toys like blocks, puzzles, and a tire from a racing car that you could crank with your hand. One of the coolest exhibits was a lunar module that had landed on the moon!

Another area of the Liberty Science Center had lots of animals you could see, like honeybees making honey and cockroaches living in a branch. There were also several monkeys. One of them liked having his picture taken and was posing for the cameras. Another did not like it and kept sticking his butt in front of everyone! Another cage contained poison dart frogs, a giant tarantula, and an alligator snapping turtle. This was the first time I had seen these animals. Before we left, I visited the gift shop and browsed around. Some interesting items included candy, Legos, science books, stuffed animals, and battery pack chargers. Around 2:45 p.m. we met at the main entrance to leave.

On the way home, we stopped for dinner at the Family Buffet Restaurant. It was a nice place with good food. This restaurant was an all-you-can-eat place. I filled my plate with wafer fries, chicken and strawberry cheesecake for dessert. They also had tacos with different fixings. I enjoyed my dinner very much.

We arrived back at TASK around 6 p.m. I was tired after this long day. When I left TASK, I was so tired, I went home and went to bed! When I remember my trip to the Liberty Science Center, I will think of all the interesting things I saw.

  • I love the Liberty Science Center almost as much as you do! Those monkeys made my day the last time we visited I was secretly hoping one would find his way into my bag and come home with me; I’m sure the dogs would love a new playmate. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time.
