It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our Board Member and friend, Emilio Papa

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our Board Member and friend, Emilio Papa. He has done so much for this community, and we are grateful to have had him in our lives. On January 16th, 2013, TASK named its dining room on Escher Street after Emilio, in gratitude for decades of dedicated work to help feed hungry neighbors.

Below is an excerpt from TASK’s Spring 2013 newsletter about the Dedication of the Emilio Papa Dining Room:

Emilio Papa

A TASK Board Member since 1995, for the past two decades Emilio has worked tirelessly to serve hungry Trenton residents. Emilio picks up food donated by local supermarkets and delivers it to an array of social service organizations and churches with programs that feed our neighbors in need. He helps serve meals, he volunteers with his church to give communion at St. Francis Medical Center, and he is a friend to every person he meets. Every few days when Emilio stops by TASK, he can always be found praising the hard work of the volunteers and staff, greeting new patrons, and catching up with old friends.

“We cannot think of a more appropriate name for our dining room,” says Dennis Micai, TASK Executive Director. “Emilio is such a warm and loving person, we hope that the atmosphere in our dining room will always exhibit those attributes as well.”

Services for Emilio will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at Incarnation Church
1545 Pennington Road
Ewing, NJ 08618
